Strengthening Switzerland as a Leading Food Nation
Insolight had the honour of participating in a Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley (SFNV) event attended by Swiss Federal Councillor Guy Parmelin.
The event brought together leading Swiss innovators in agriculture, food, and energy. Its goal was to discuss how to strengthen Switzerland’s position as a sustainable and resilient food nation.
Alongside companies such as Nestlé, AgroSustain, Vivent, and Voltiris, Insolight joined this strategic dialogue. The discussions focused on the future of food systems and the role of innovation.

Agrivoltaics: Combining Energy and Agriculture
During the event, Insolight presented its agrivoltaic (AgriPV) solutions, demonstrating how solar energy production can be integrated with agricultural activity on the same land.
Agrivoltaics enables:
- Efficient land use by combining food and energy production
- Increased energy security through local renewable generation
- Preservation of agricultural productivity
Insolight’s solutions are designed to deliver cost-efficient renewable energy while supporting farmers and maintaining crop yields.

Collaboration Across the Innovation Ecosystem
Discussions emphasized the importance of strong collaboration between public institutions, research centers, and private companies to accelerate innovation.
From early-stage research to market deployment, coordinated efforts are essential to scale solutions like agrivoltaics and ensure a successful energy transition that also protects food systems.
Driving the Future of Sustainable Food Systems
The event highlighted Switzerland’s unique position as a hub for innovation at the intersection of agriculture, technology, and energy.
Insolight is proud to contribute to this ecosystem by developing and deploying agrivoltaic solutions that support both climate goals and agricultural resilience.

We would like to thank Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley (SFNV) and EPFL for organising this event and fostering meaningful exchanges between key actors of the ecosystem.
